Voices of Spirit

Elwood Babbitt is a full trance medium, which means that the medium actually leaves the physical body and the visiting entity inters. This book by Hapgood who spent years studying Babbitt and his ability to contact spirits by request, examines Babbitt's medium ship in depth. It will fascinate both the curious skeptic and the believer. Full-length transcripts of communications, which have come through trances, are included in this volume. A must read!!!

Such An Intriguing Work

"Voices of Spirit" is a heavy yet scholarly work that studies and shares the "voices" that came through a medium named Elwood Babbitt.

The introduction goes into a discussion about how plants and metals can "behave" like animals, the T field (thought) and L field (life) as well as the Kirlian photography. Personally, I've found the research as sited in the introduction is just fascinating. Hapgood then goes on to discuss a bit about the background of Elwood Babbitt and the Spiritualism in first two chapters. Finally, the "voices" of spirit are covered in the third chapter (and in tenth chapter), including Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, William Wordsworth, Queen Elizabeth I, Abraham Lincoln, and more. Then, in the next short chapter, Babbitt as being evaluated by a psychologist C. H. Cook. The further three chapters deal with out-of-the-body experiments and the mechanics of spirit communications. And, a short chapter focusing on "Eloise," Hapgood's dog, to which Babbitt gave a reading for. Finally, the predictions made by Babbitt and the author's insightful thoughts are focused in the remaining of the book.

I've especially enjoyed the humorous conversations with a spirit of "Mark Twain" in this book. All in all, this book is such an intriguing work and rather enjoyable. It is to be recommended.
